Benefiting the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles - Heart Institute Echocardiogram screenings sponsored by
The Chad Foundation
Our mission as artists is to create art (film, theatre,
books) which encourages and celebrates traditional American values and
provides inspiring role models. A future project planned by The
Chad Foundation is a documentary and companion book, entitled "Young
Americans," celebrating young athletes whose lives were brief
but vibrant and inspiring, cut short by conditions similar to those suffered
by young basketball greats, Loyola Marymount University's Hank Gathers,
and the Boston Celtics' Reggie Lewis. With an emphasis on sports, we feel
this documentary will help raise parents' and the public's awareness of
what can be done to prevent sudden deaths from hidden heart disease, such
as having a defibrillator at every game, and making an echocardiogram standard
in sports physicals. We also believe this film will help parents, siblings,
and friends who have lost a child, brother, sister, or best friend, learn
to heal and go on with life. . . for this loss is the most difficult thing
of all.
The Board members of The Chad Foundation are Chad's
two brothers, Curt and Collin, and all his wonderful friends. Knowing that
Chad would applaud our efforts to help other children live long, healthy
lives, we devote our lives and art to this cause. We keep our overhead
low so that our gifts to the children at the
Childrens
Hospital Los Angeles - Heart Institute can be as great as
possible. There is nothing more important than helping a child's heart
to live the fullest life possible.
